Itinerary
Departure from Cortina d'Ampezzo towards Passo Giau (2,236 m / 7,336 ft) one of the most beautiful passes in the Dolomites and made famous both as a stage of the Giro d'Italia and as the starting point for numerous wonderful summer excursions.
Continue down to the valley crossing the little village of Colle Santa Lucia. From here go on until Malga Ciapela (alpine hut), where, if you want, you can take the cable car up to the top of the Marmolada, to Punta Rocca (3,265 m / 10,712 ft), the best point to see all the Dolomites. The Marmolada, also known as the Queen, is the highest mountain on the Dolomites (3,342 m / 10,965 ft). It is mirrored on the north side in the Lake Fedaia, which you can admire before and after your ascent to altitude. Descent into Fassa Valley. At Canazei you start going up towards Sella Pass (2,218 m / 7,277 ft). Lunch break. Photo stop with a 180°panorama of the Sella massif.
Continue towards the Sella Pass where you will find yourself in front of extraordinary scenery with the Sella massif on one side and the Sassolungo Group on the other. Here begins the Gardena Valley with its villages of Selva, Santa Cristina and Ortisei. In this latter village you can stop for a walk in the centre and for some woodwork shopping, objects of which it boasts a long and recognized tradition. Then, you descend to the Eisack Valley and the tour ends in Bolzano.
Note: The program may change due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions, festive or seasonal closures of roads, museums, cable cars etc. In these cases, alternative solutions will be provided.
