Itinerary

Departure from Bolzano going up the narrow Isarco Valley until arriving in Gardena Valley, with its characteristic South Tyrolean villages of Selva, Santa Cristina and Ortisei. In this latter village you can stop for a walk in the centre and for some woodwork shopping, objects of which it boasts a long and recognized tradition.

With a small detour towards Sella Pass (2,218 m / 7,277 ft) you can go with an old but amusing gondola lift up to touch the rock of the Sassolungo. From the rifugio Toni Demetz (2,685 m / 8,809 ft), located on the saddle, the spectacle is compelling on both sides of the slope.
The cable car descends slowly near the pass allowing you to admire with tranquility the panorama.

From here you go on towards Gardena Pass (2,136 m / 7,008 ft), a popular destination for sportsmen and one of the historic Dolomite passes of the Giro d'Italia. Beyond the Pass you are in the splendid Badia Valley, in the heart of the Dolomites, a Ladin basin kissed by the sun and dominated by rocky giants. After passing Corvara, already renowned in the eighteenth century for its splendid position by climbers and mountaineers, La Villa and S. Martino, go up the mountain to Erbe Pass (1,987 m / 6,519 ft), located between the jagged rocks of Sass de Putia and the beautiful pastures of Luson.

Going down it is a must to stop in the splendid Funes Valley in Santa Maddalena at the homonymous church, behind which dominates the majestic Odle group. Silence and peace reign there. The view of this colossus of the Dolomites is the worthy and enchanting conclusion of this spectacular tour.

Note: The program may change due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions, festive or seasonal closures of roads, museums, cable cars etc. In these cases, alternative solutions will be provided.
