Itinerary
The journey from Bolzano to Misurina and Rifugio Auronzo (2,320 m / 7,612 ft) is a bit long but the view of the Three Peaks is priceless. Your excursion starts from the Rifugio Auronzo (mountain hut) and runs along the southern part of the Three Peaks; the stone giants famous throughout the world.
The route is extraordinarily panoramic but once you reach the Forcella Lavaredo (2,454 m / 8,051 ft), the spectacle is amazing: you find yourself surrounded by beautiful Dolomite peaks a few meters from the smooth walls of the Three Peaks. Unforgettable!
After the lunch break and back to Auronzo, the tour continues with a stop at Lake Misurina and then in Cortina d'Ampezzo, where you can enjoy a pleasant walk along its shopping street.
There is a stop at the Falzarego Pass (2,117 m / 6,946 ft) and a second one at the Valparola Pass (2,168 m / 7,113 ft), at the homonymous mountain hut which offers you a splendid view of the Badia Valley. Descending the valley and passing by La Villa, there is the opportunity to take a photo stop in Corvara, at the foot of Mount Sassongher.
At this point you leave the enchanting Badia Valley, and you go up the bends of the Gardena Pass (2,136 m / 7,008 ft), a popular destination for sportsmen and one of the historic Dolomite passes of the Giro d'Italia. Here, with a wild stretch of land, begins the most famous valley of the area: the Gardena Valley, land of strong tourist appeal both in summer and in winter. Return to Bolzano.
Note: The program may change due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions, festive or seasonal closures of roads, museums, cable cars etc. In these cases, alternative solutions will be provided.
