Itinerary
Departure from Cortina d'Ampezzo towards Falzarego Pass (2,117 m /6,946 ft). Stopping at the pass is a must; it was the scene of bloody battles during the First World War, and its trenches are a splendid testimony of this. Following this, you cannot fail to stop at the following Valparola Pass (2,168 m / 7,113 ft), from where you can admire, from above, the Badia Valley set between the Dolomite peaks.
After a short photo stop in Corvara, located in a sunny plain at the foot of Mount Sassongher, a typical rocky giant of the Dolomites, you will go up the hairpin bends towards the splendid Gardena Pass (2,136 m / 7, 008 ft), a popular destination for sportsmen and one of the historic Dolomite passes of the Giro d'Italia.
At this point you head to Sella Pass (2,218 m / 7,277 ft), which is surrounded by splendid Dolomite peaks. As you reach Lake Fedaia, where the Queen, the Marmolada, the highest mountain in the Dolomites (3.343 m / 10,967 ft), is reflected, if you want you can take the cable car that takes you up to Punta Rocca (3,265 m / 10,712ft) , the highest viewpoint in the Dolomites. Lunch break in a typical restaurant.
Finally, the return to Cortina can only rightly end by passing through Giau Pass (2,236 m / 7,336 ft), one of the most beautiful passes in the Dolomites made famous as the starting point for numerous wonderful summer excursions.
Note: The program may change due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions, festive or seasonal closures of roads, museums, cable cars etc. In these cases, alternative solutions will be provided.
