Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Ferrari: surviving legends. Parmesan cheese, Parma ham and great wines: a journey through the Po Valley with taste.

Type of tour: private including a tour guide
Form of transport: by car or minibus including driver
Period: all year round
Duration: 6 days / 5 nights
Leaving from and arriving at: Milan

Day 1: Participants arrive and settle into a hotel in Milan previously booked for you by Oiden Tour.

Day 2: Meet with tour conductor at hotel. From Milan we will travel to Parma. Some wine tasting accompanied by a selection of cold cuts of Parma near Langhirano. Lunch in the nearby Castello di Torrechiara. In the afternoon we will enter the world of engines… a stop to admire the Ferrari Gallery, official shop and Fiorano circuit at Maranello is a must. With a bit of luck we might see a test run of the Ferrari racing cars. We have chosen a quiet farm for you to stay at in the hills.

Day 3: After breakfast we will move to the Bolognese area. With its 85 motorbike manufacturers, the province of Bologna is a unique place. Here there are many passionate collectors who collect hundreds of vintage motorcycles among which you can find some unique models. We will visit a prestigious collection. Some free time before lunch where you can visit Bologna, a lively, well kept historical city. The afternoon will be dedicated to the great Ducati: motorbike manufacturer which recently won the World Championship. Visit to the plant and museum.

Day 4: This morning you will have a taste of the Parmesan cheese, sovereign Italian cheese, known worldwide. You will have the chance to see the different stages in the production process of the cheese and how, even on a larger scale, a very strict standard is set. Visit to Umberto Panini’s vintage car and motorbike collection. A treasure trove of rare pieces: about 30 motorbikes and 40 cars. Some pieces are absolutely unique. We will stop for lunch and part of the afternoon at the “Outlet City” of Castel Guelfo where you will find a wide choice of famous labels at bargain prices. You will also find the Ducati store.

Day 5: We go the province of Verona. The recently opened Nicolis museum not only offers a display of relics which tells us the history of the motorcycle but has an area dedicated to the technical and mechanical side too, not to mention the aeronautics section (on display a 1903 Peugeot C2HP). Lunch and then off to Mandello del Lario on the banks of Lake Como. An interesting exhibition of Guzzi motorbikes. An Italian make that has little need for introduction. Back to Milan.

Day 6: Depart after breakfast. Private transfer is available to the next destination.
